I was charged with a violation of "Scott's Law", a traffic violation that I did not even know about. If convicted I would have lost my driver's license for 3 months, which would have ruined my business. Mr. Dodds' advice to take the case to a bench trial was right on and I was found NOT GUILTY. What he charged me for a bench trial was the same amount another attorney was going to charge me to plea bargain for court supervision, which would have inevitably suspended my license; I don't think the other attorney was even aware of that.

About Terry - Illinois Personal Injury Attorney

The Dodds Law Office represents Illinois personal injury, Illinois workers compensation and Illinois auto accident claimants and counsels clients in the areas of criminal, family, and estate law.

Terry is a native of the Bloomington-Normal area, having attended grade school and junior high in the Unit 5 School District. His mother, Maggie Thompson, also has strong ties to the Bloomington-Normal community, having grown up in what is now the Olympia School District. She retired from Country Insurance after eighteen years of service. Maggie is now married to the Reverend James Thompson, who is a retired United Methodist Minister. Terry's father, Ronald Dodds, grew up in Schuyler County, Illinois, but has also lived in Bloomington-Normal periodically since graduating from Illinois State University in 1971.

After graduating from Clinton Community High School in 1992, Terry obtained an Associates Degree from Sauk Valley Community College where he was on a basketball scholarship. He then went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Illinois State University and his Juris Doctor degree from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale.

After completing his studies at SIU School of Law, he began his legal career working for the Missouri State Public Defender's Office in Buffalo, Missouri. During the two year period, he worked for the State of Missouri, he defended both misdemeanor and felony defendants and tried his first cases. He then entered private practice in Springfield, Missouri working for a successful civil litigation law firm which primarily represented personal injury, workers compensation, and medical malpractice claimants. There he did trial and appellate work, including arguing his first case before the Southern District of the Missouri Court of Appeals.

Terry previously represented indigent clients in the courts of McLean County pursuant to a contract with the McLean County Public Defender's Office. He also currently serves as the Board President of the Boys & Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal.

Terry is excited to be closer to friends and family and is also excited about being an Illinois personal injury attorney, Illinois workers compensation attorney and Illinois auto accident attorney in the Bloomington-Normal area.
